Festival belonging to any
culture or faith is an activity of interaction with moral values. It benefits
in many ways from the spiritual lesson that each festival has; to the
psychological or physical better that it offers. I feel that taking part in
festival can bring out the inner feelings of an individual; also it can serve
as an opportunity of serving and helping others which can be good for a society
as a whole.
Festivals like the Eid, Christmas,
Diwali, Holi, Nouroz have their unique values spreading harmony and unity. These
festivals also provide a platform for caring and sharing, presenting a sense of
sacrifice and duty towards community. Experiencing and conducting festivities
have been part of human history and is reported from the early days of mankind.
However throughout time there have been modifications in the way festivals are
celebrated. From basic display of celebration to the length and venue of
celebration has quite altered from what it actually used to be at its inception.
Many have introduced new kinds of festivals based on foods, sports, clothes,
technology, weather, film, music and many more. But the essence of festival is
the same in bringing people together.
I deeply encourage attending
and observing festivals as it can be way for many to look beyond their busy
life schedule and explore something meaningful and worthwhile. Plus it is
always a good omen to meet and stay in touch with people keeping one updated
with what is happening around. Also it keeps us reminding about who we are and
what we do. Stay healthy and play your part in the festival you attend, I am
sure it will be soothing and rewarding.
